4 Tests in PPG Pretest and the Assessment Indicators

Pretest PPG or teacher professional education is one of the requirements that must be followed by teachers to be able to qualify as participants in the teacher education program. The goal is to obtain an education certificate that can be used as the basis for obtaining benefits as well as increasing abilities and competencies after participating in PPG.

Therefore, to further improve the ability and competence of teachers in participating in PPG, teachers must also be able to answer various questions in the PPG pretest.

Before implementing PPG, to measure the competency level of PPG participants in the early stages, first teacher will take part in the PPG pretest process in 2022.

The results of the PPG pretest implementation will also be used as the basis for mapping the competency level of teachers in sustainable professional development programs or better known as PKB.

PPG Pretest Questions

In accordance with the provisions, PPG pretest questions are divided into three types, namely: competence pedagogic, personality and social competency tests and professional competency tests. And, each type of test is in the form of multiple choice in which there are already four answers, one of which must be chosen, the following is an explanation of each:

Pedagogic Competence

The definition of pedagogical competence is a test of the ability of educators in particular to measure the level of understanding of their students, the process of designing and implementing learning activities, evaluating learning outcomes, and encouraging and developing the potential of each student so that they can actualize their abilities.

Technically, the pedagogic competency test is measured based on the provisions stipulated in the Minister of National Education Regulation No. 16 of 2007, including the following:

  1. Mastering and understanding each character of the students from various aspects such as: physical, moral, cultural, social, emotional to their intellectual level.
  2. Mastering and understanding learning theory and learning principles that educate students.
  3. Carry out curriculum development in accordance with the fields and subjects taught.
  4. Carry out educational development activities.
  5. Make full use of information and communication technology, especially for the needs and interests of implementing development activities that educate students.

Personal Competence

Personality competence is a test to measure the ability of educators personally based on a personality that is stable, mature, wise, wise, authoritative and steady and able to provide examples or examples to students.

By measuring the indicators of personality competence through the following things, including:

  1. Work and act in accordance with the rules and norms of religion, applicable law, socio-culture according to the character of the Indonesian people.
  2. Reflecting the personality as educators who are honest and able to be role models for their students and the community.
  3. Maintain and uphold the professional code of ethics
  4. Have a work ethic and enthusiasm as well as responsibility and high self-confidence as educators.

Social Competence

Social competence is the ability of a teacher to communicate and interact with students, the community and parents in an effective and flexible manner.

This test is measured by referring to the following indicators:

  1. Objective and inclusive and does not discriminate against students both in terms of ethnicity, religion and race but also in terms of social and economic status.
  2. Polite and empathetic and able to build effective communication between educators and parents and society in general.

Professional Competence

This pretest was conducted to measure the mastery of each learning material starting from the subject curriculum, the substance of the scientific level of the learning material and the methodology in science.

The assessment indicators refer to the following points:

  1. Have the ability and mastery of learning materials ranging from concepts, structures and scientific methodologies that are appropriate to the subject.
  2. Have mastery of the basic competencies of the subjects taught.
  3. Have creativity in developing subject matter.
  4. Utilizing advanced technology both to build communication and develop personal qualities.
