4 Efforts to Improve the Quality of Worship Islam is a belief and a comprehensive way of life. Islam teaches a clear and detailed understanding of the relationship between humans and their God, namely Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala such as where do we come from, what is the purpose of our life, why are we in this world then where will we go after the end of life.
About the purpose of our creation, it turns out that Allah has explained it in Surah Az-Zariyat Verse 56:
ا لَقْتُ الْجِنَّ الْاِنْسَ اِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوْنِ
Meaning: I did not create the jinn and humans except that they worship me.

Worship in Islam is not only prayer, zakat, fasting, almsgiving, and performing Hajj alone, but worship includes all things or deeds that are loved and pleased by Allah. Subhanahu wa ta’ala.

Sincere in worship to improve the quality of your worship
The scholars define sincerity as all worship that is intended only for Allah and not for others.
Sincerity is the key and purpose of worship, if you carry out worship sincerely, you will certainly get the reward and pleasure of Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala.
To improve the quality of worship, worship solemnly
Khusuk here is a condition where the soul, which is only attached to Allah, can feel and realize the presence of Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala. As mentioned in the hadith:
الْإِحْسَانُ اللَّهَ اهُ، لَمْ اهُ اكَ
“Ihsaan is that you worship Allah as if you see Him. But if you can’t see Him, then He sees you.”
Every Muslim knows that all our work and deeds will always be there are under Allah’s control Subhanahu wa ta’ala.
Don’t worship with riya
We worship not to get praise from others but to worship only for Allah and expect His pleasure.
As in the Qur’an:
لْ اِنَّ لَاتِيْ ايَ اتِيْ لِلّٰهِ الْعٰلَمِيْنَۙ
“Say, ‘Verily my prayer, my worship, my life and my death are only for Allah, the Lord of the worlds’.” (Surat al-An’am : 162).
Worship with love for Allah
In worship, it is very important for us to present our love and longing for God. Without a sense of love for Allah we will find it difficult to be solemn in worship and difficult to feel pleasure in worship.
