The learning model with the concept of Blended Learning is basically a combination of the advantages of learning that is carried out face-to-face and virtually.
Blended learning is also a convenience learning which combines various modes of delivery, teaching models, and learning styles, introducing a variety of media options for dialogue between the facilitator and the person being taught.
This learning model is learning that is supported by an effective combination of different modes of delivery, teaching methods and learning styles and is found in open communication between all parties involved with the training.
The benefit of using e-learning as well as blended learning in today’s world of education is that e-learning provides flexibility in choosing the time and place to access lessons.
E-learning provides an opportunity for students to independently take control of success study. Learners are free to decide when to start, when to finish, and which part of a module they want to study first.
If, after repeated, there are still things that he does not understand, the learner can contact the instructor, resource person via email, chat or participate in interactive dialogue at certain times. You can also read the results of the discussion on the message board available in the LMS (Learning Management System).
There are at least six types of this learning model, the following is an explanation:
Station Rotation
Station-Rotation blended learning is combining the three stations or spots in one hour face-to-face divided into three. For example, one face-to-face meeting consists of 90 minutes, then the 90-minute face-to-face time is divided into three times for each stage in a different spot, which is 30 minutes. The three spots consist of online instruction, Teacher-led Instruction, and Collaborative Activities and Stations.
Rotation Lab
The Lab Rotation Blended Learning model is similar to Station Rotation, which allows students to have the opportunity to rotate stations through a predetermined schedule but is carried out using a special computer laboratory that allows flexible scheduling arrangements with the lecturer. Thus a computer laboratory is needed.
Remote or Enriched Virtual
In Remote Blended Learning, students focus on completing online learning, they do face-to-face learning with educators only occasionally as needed.
Flex Blended Learning
Flex is included in the type of Blended Learning model where online learning is the core of student learning, but is still supported by offline learning activities. Students continue learning that begins in real classrooms with flexible schedules that are individually tailored to a variety of learning modalities.
The ‘Flipped Classroom’ Blended Learning
This Flipped Classroom version of Blended learning is the most widely known version, Flipped Classroom starts from student learning that is done online outside the classroom or at home with content that has been provided previously. After carrying out the online learning process outside the campus, students then deepen and practice solving problems on campus with lecturers and or classmates.
Individual Rotation
The Individual Rotation model allows students to rotate through stations, but according to an individual schedule set by the teacher or by a software algorithm. Unlike other rotation models, students do not need to cycle to each station; they simply cycle to the scheduled activity on their playlist.
The recent rapid development of learning models not only increases the flexibility and individualization of students’ learning experiences, but also enables educators to streamline the time they spend as learning facilitators.
